Galleria Norsu on ensimmäisenä suomalaisena galleriana osallistumassa Victoria & Albert museossa Lontoossa järjestettäviin maineikkaille Collect messuille helmikuussa 2007. British Crafts Councilin järjestämä Collect, joka järjestetään nyt neljännen kerran, on Euroopan ainoa kansainvälinen taidemessu nyky-objekteille jossa nähdään parasta uutta taidekäsityötä ympäri maailman. Tänä vuonna paikalle saapuu 43 galleriaa 12 eri maasta, joista viisi on Pohjoismaista! Collect suuntautuu kansainvälisille keräilijöille ja on kolmen vuoden aikana ylittänyt odotukset. Viisi päivää kestäville messuille saapui viime vuonna yli 11 000 kävijää.
Galleria Norsu edustaa messuilla seitsemää taiteilijaa: Hibernate ryhmään kuuluvat korutaiteilijat Helena Lehtinen, Eija Mustonen ja Tarja Tuupanen, lasitaiteilijat Oiva Toikka, Anu Penttinen ja Hong Sung Hwuan sekä taidekäsityöläinen/puuseppä Markku Kosonen.

Helena Lehtinen, Eija Mustonen and Tarja Tuupanen are all part of the group Hibernate, which is a means to arrange joined exhibitions and create fresh approaches to Finnish jewellery art.

Helena Lehtinen
My works are about memories from my family, my past; fragments, objects, photos without a camera. Identity is not stabile but in constant movement and change. I'm in between minimalism and kitsch; I hate and love both of them.

Eija Mustonen
The connection to my own environment and space is the starting point in my working process; randomness and order as it is in nature. The theme is landscape, not just physical space but also psychic state. The forms, colours, materials express my relationship to the space.

Tarja Tuupanen
The main material in my work is stone, which I love for its versatility and challenging nature, and hate for its trickiness and limitations. I carve the stone thin, sometimes to its edge, looking for boundaries and interesting sides of the material. The forms in my jewellery often reminds of human body. I'm interested in human, how different genders differ from each other and how they are the same. At the moment I'm studying people's territories and personal spaces and areas in general.

Markku Kosonen
Markku Kosonen is one of Finlands most renowned craftsmen who got international attention for his willow baskets already in the 1980’s. He has exhibited all over the world and his latest exhibition was shown in Tokyo. He is a member of the co-operative for the artisans, designers and artists of Fiskars, a co-operative representing just about all the arts and crafts imaginable – the majority of them cabinet-makers, ceramists, visual artists and industrial designers. He works with unique pieces and small series and is known for bringing forward wood that is rarely used. He has also organized projects between the industry, education, designers and producers and has published several articles in wood related publications and journals. Kosonen has received several prizes and recognitions, among others the Alvar Allto foundations Artek prize, Asko Avonius prize and the Pro Finlandia medal.

Hong Sung Hwuan
Hong Sung Hwuan, born 1967, is a graduate of the University of Art and Design Helsinki. He has developed a new technique using a blow-pipe with more than one hole at the end and has thus opened up a world of possibilities, from vessels with two apertures, right up to eight, all with a layer of clear, solid glass, displaying the harmonious and subtle colour combinations caught inside.

Anu Penttinen
‘Notions of manmade environment, both urban and suburban – signs, traffic, lights, noise and maps, just to mention a few – act as triggers for the design process in my work. I am intrigued by the relationship between order and disorder, and how these can be translated, through personal journeys, on to black-and-white glass objects. I work with both fusing and blowing techniques in order to create strong works, mainly in the two polarised colours, black and white, but recently adding new colours such as red, orange and yellow. I combine traditional glassmaking techniques with contemporary imagery, including variations of grid lines, whether strict and orderly or more organic like those on a metropolitan street map.’

Oiva Toikka
Professor Oiva Toikka is one of the greatest names in Finnish glass. His imaginative, rich and bold glass art deviates from the streamlined aesthetic of Nordic design. He has worked in the performing arts for as long as he has in glass. He has enjoyed an international career and received numerous awards, among them Lunning Prize, Pro Finlandia Medal, World Glass Now 85 Award, Kaj Franck Design Prize and the Prince Eugen Medal.
