Dear
friends of jewellery,
you have a great opportunity to see new contemporary spanish jewellery
art in Gallery Norsu, Helsinki, Finland. Gemma Draper (born 1971)
has during the autumn been working in Rantapaja, Lappeenranta. The
results will be seen from 15th December, 2006 until 6thDecember, 2006
at 4pm-6pm.
The artist will be present at the opening and can also be met 15-16th
of December at Gallery Norsu during opening hours.

Korutaiteilija Gemma Draper (synt.1971) on työskennellyt syksyn
Rantapajalla, Lappeenrannassa. Työn tulokset ovat nähtävillä
15.12-6.1.2007.

Ni har nu ett ypperligt tillfälle att se ny spansk smyckekonst
på Galleri Norsu i Helsingfors.
Smyckekonstnären Gemma Draper (född 1971) har under hösten
arbetat i "Rantapaja" i Villmanstrand. Resultatet av arbetet
är nu utställt den 15.12.-6.1.2006 i Helsingfors. Välkommen
till vernissage torsdagen den 14.12. kl 16-18!
Konstnären är närvarande vid vernissagen och kan mötas
på galleriet även den 15-16.12. under galleriets öppettider.

Undressing the guests
The outer parts of the objects often give a wrong idea. True essence
often flows by working in depth. Three-dimensional spaces offer
this possibility, and to feel the layers of a natural material introduce
the idea of change as an inevitable mate. To heal and to fix are
an under-line in Gemma Draper's new pieces. A cut element cannot
be read in the same way as it was before. Stone, horn and wood assume
in these works their new condition, where a deficiency quality is
now seen as a precious reason to be.To assume nudity allows the
possibility of hosting new ways of dialogue. In this case guests
don't replace or fill the missing elements, but fulfill them in
new and unexpected ways.
